Finding Discounted Flights Can Save You Money
Finding discounted flights is not hard if you know where to look. These days finding discounted flights helps lessen the strain on the pocket book. With the cost of getting to the airport being probably the single biggest expense that people have before booking their vacation who wouldn’t spend time finding discounted flights? Those enticing Ads that flash across your TV screen do not always save money.
When looking to buy cheap airline tickets most people visit travel discount websites like Priceline, Expedia, Orbitz, to find the best deals. In addition, if you use this by dropping your email address you can purchase your airline tickets as well as other products and receive cash back. Airline travel sites usually have a very helpful forum where travelers can discuss their experiences and compare prices. According to Airfare watchdog site. Be sure to fly on a weekday as Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the two best days to fly with Tuesday being the best day to purchase airline ticket(s). Flying at night is also cheaper.
Summer time and the holidays are important times of the year for traveling and finding a place to crash. We all have our own ways of making it a little easier, and most of us do not just take to some of the more popular ones.
The Air B-King (Air to Ground) is one of those ideas that some people have embraced and embraced whole heartedly, but I am not one of those. Why? Well, I like to take the scenic route. There are a few instances where a flight can get pretty crowded, when it comes to the Air to Ground.

The first one is where there is some sort of a delay. The Air B-King is the way to go for a lot of people. This way, you get direct routes to get from point A to point B without any stopovers. If you plan to take a flight that is Air to Ground, then I would advise you to plan for one to get from point A to point B, as a direct flight will be a lot easier to get.
It should also be noted that a lot of airline companies have a fee structure for roundtrip tickets. If you are booking a direct flight and you are a student or a senior citizen, then the company may charge you an extra fee. So a little planning can go a long way. That is not to say you cannot do it, but it will be easy to find a flight that costs a lot less.
The usual suspects are always going to be the ones you see advertised. A cheap plane ticket is always going to be the one on a sale. However, there are a few caveats to this. Firstly, if you are on a long haul flight, it may be cheaper to fly with a less expensive airline. I don’t know the reasons for this but I would imagine it has something to do with the time zone difference. Secondly, you may find that flying direct with no changes is cheaper than booking with a consolidator. The consolidator flights will usually be on the cheaper days. I can’t say that I have ever noticed this, but you may be able to save.
The next idea is to simply go to the airline companies website. You get what you pay for there. Sometimes it will give you a flight that is Air to Ground. Again, a little planning will go a long way. Some will not charge you an extra fee if you book directly with the website. Some will, but I tend to avoid those. I find the rates are usually cheaper if you look at the website. Again, it is your call.

The last idea that some people swear by is to find a travel agent. This is great for big group deals. I always tell people to avoid it for any sort of trip that is Air to Ground. Why? The travel Agents have the best deals but, they also have the worst deals and usually charge you way more than you would normally pay. For example, if you go to their site and you book a round trip ticket from Atlanta to Boston the price you see is not the price you pay.
So, plan ahead, if you do plan to use a travel Agent, check their rates, read the fine print on how they will adjust the rate. Plan to be flexible with travel times and connecting flights. And be sure to pay in full.
I hope this has helped you to find ways to save money on flying. What is your best way to find cheap flights? Be sure to comment them.
